THE GEOLOGIST CANDLE HOLDER

This sculptural candle holder is as much a table top accessory as it is a functional piece. Carved by hand in wax and then cast in bronze, it still keeps traces from the process, with a textured surface, traces of hand tools and even the ‘collerette’ of the wax that escaped the seams of the mold during the casting process, making each piece truly unique. Cast in edition of 3, with unique details in each piece.

Satin finish. The hole fits a regular size taper candle.

These pieces are part of “an object of thought”, a body of work that explores functional sculptural shapes, in very small series or as one of a kind objects. They embrace the raw nature of the material, the unexpected in the production process and a more manual and unrestrained approach to metal work.
